fire engine, horse-drawn manual (horse drawn vehicle & fire engine)

Horse-drawn manual fire engine complete with pole and two lamps. Red painted with gold leaf embellishment and lettering. Built by Shand Mason & Co for the Imperial Fire Office in Bristol and used by them until the establishment of the Bristol Fire Brigade in 1877, then used at St George until 1898. Sold to Somerton Parish Council, Somerset in 1898 and used there until about 1935.
