cartonnage mummy mask (mummy-mask)

Painted cartonnage mummy-mask. Gold painted human face with painted decoration on the beard, hair piece and upper body. The face has large eyes, painted in black outlines. The paint on the areas other than the face is mostly blue, yellow, red and green. Figures (2 ka/ba birds and 2 seated deities- [Osiris]) are painted on the front of the wig, one at each side. A winged scarab is painted across the crown of the head. 2 snakes are painted in yellow at the back. A winged deity is painted each side of the temples. Small holes around some of the edges and the face, for attachment.
