bridle bit

Bronze bridle bit compromising two adjoining circular sectioned strips with straighter strips threaded onto them. Adjoining metal strips are connected with curved, flattened terminals and have a ring as the other terminal. Straighter metal strips have circular perforations at each end (one end is broken). May have been acquired by Dr Fawcett by purchase at a Sotheby's auction, 24 May 1951 (Lot 54). This object was pXRF sampled in 2022 and the results were consistent with other objects of Luristani origin.
