dish: charger

A charger painted in blue and yellow on a white glaze. Head-and-shoulders male portrait wearing a crown over his shoulder-length curled hair; he wears a striped cloak fastened by a gold clasp. Identified as Charles II by the initials and date either side of his head: 'C 2/R // 16 82'. Two pairs of concentric lines edge the well, a third pair inside rim. Border pattern on flange of twelve stylised tulips/buds with leaves, alternately upright and on their sides. Lead-glazed back.
