axehead, socketed

Bronze socketed axehead with crescentic blade joined to the socketed shaft with three rear projections each with flanges. Socket is slightly damaged with three rear projection. Fawcett has noted '(same type from Egypt)'. Acquired by Dr Fawcett at a Sotheby's auction of antiquities 17 May 1965 (Lot 44). This object was pXRF sampled in 2022 and the results were consistent with other objects of Luristani origin.
