Raincoat

Black and white 'Op-Art' Raincoat in PVC, Circa 1964-8. The raincoat is above knee length and is black except for the white collar and white front edging (118mm wide). It is slightly flared in shape and has small shoulder darts at the front and back. There are inset pockets set diagonally, with pocket flaps. The coat is double breasted, fastening with one row of 4 black buttons - The complimentary row is not functional (but creates a symmetrical look). The buttons and fastening are all set onto the white front panels. Inside, the coat is fully lined with black rayon lining with a black PVC hanging loop inset into the collar seam. Sewn into the inside of the left front edging is a colloured satin woven label in black white and gold stating: 'Alligator By Mary Quant'. No hood. Recorded in writing: P.E.W. 23:10:85
