Banner for the Transport and General Workers' Union, Municipal Employees Branch, Area No3 Bristol. The TGWU had more members than any other union in Bristol, and members included City Corporation workers. Double sided, blue background with red centre. One side has painted image of 'The workers' Maypole' with workers holding ribbons such as 'the right to work' and 'the land for the people'. The other side has a painted image of the Bristol Tram Centre, with further images such as swimming baths in cartouches at the top two corners. Red and blue tassels along the bottom edge. Two buttons for G Tuthill, fixing red tapes for tying.
