punch bowl

A deep punch bowl with tapered sides on a short pedestal foot with convex sides. It is painted in cobalt blue on a pale bluish glaze. The exterior has four scenes separated by garlanded columns: five men around a table with punchbowl, glasses and pipes; a lady and gentlemen toasting each other in a country setting with a church; a swordsman attacking a defender, a sailing ship on the left, a fort on the right; and a lady seated on hillock beneath a bower. The interior is painted with two empty chairs and a table set with a punchbowl similar to G1690, with glasses and candlestick; five flower sprays below rim.
