wine-storage jar (wine jar)

Large guan wine jar, porcelain body with solid lining. The outer case is reticulated with designs in applied relief of the eight Daoist immortals and the God of Long Life and flowers in turquois, aubergine, yellow and white enamel glazes on turquoise grouound in fahua style. The base and the inside of the vessel are covered in a more greenish turquoise glaze. This vessel would originally have had a cover which is now lost.
